Anti-Racist Statement And Community Accountability
I pledge to do my best when it comes to solidarity against bigotry, racism, and injustice. In the past, I have not openly expressed my views on these matters, especially through my website and business-related social media accounts.
While this platform is nothing special, I will do better.
San Clemente Island goats have an amazing history and carry genetic diversity that parallels everything related to DEI. Supporting diversity in all forms is important. Listening to the voices of people who share their concerns is paramount.
To move forward toward positive change, we have to acknowledge our history, become aware of our social positions, and work on critical self-awareness. Community building includes supporting those who have been harmed by hate and ensuring both physical and psychological safety. I will do everything in my power to make sure people feel safe when being involved with The Liminal Farmstead.
Any threats, racism, or negative adversity to friends and the community will be diligently blocked. In short, bigoted ideologies of any kind, no matter how you sugarcoat them, are not welcome here. Starting from the basic concept of human rights allows for genuine growth.
I refuse to be involved with people who register these goats with any registry other than the SCIGBA.
It is a monumental process not only to foster and create a solid future for these endangered goats, but also to make sure these goats go to homes where more positive community building can grow. These two goals mesh well together to help create fertile ground for diversity of every kind.

AI Awareness
The use of AI in my life or work is an option I choose not to engage with or use. As a creative person, AI steals from us. The data centers that are needed to sustain AI are overwhelmingly damaging to the environment.
While nobody is perfect and many of us make choices that we feel are good, or are perhaps limited by not enough options to make choices we prefer. We all leave a “footprint” on this earth. AI is a “thing” that has a place that could be good, but many people are using it for absolutely useless reasons. Creating a bigger disconnect between people as we rely on AI as a social tool rather than asking a friend, professional, or neighbor for advice or other help.
I am a steward to a critically endangered livestock breed; it would be hypocritical of me to engage in using a tool that would cause so much environmental damage. Why save a breed when I’m helping pollute an environment that would make the future inhospitable to live in?
Take time to research how AI impacts everything. I am disturbed to see people using AI images of the San Clemente Island goat breed. Please don’t.
I pledge not to use AI in content related to the farm or my personal life. I align myself with people who are protesting the building of AI data centers.
